The best storage options for your 1:18 scale diecast race cars is to keep them in a dust proof display case or in it's original box. Keeping the car on display in the open leaves it exposed to the dust and contaminants that will destroy the decals and paint.
You can use a lens brush/blower to keep them clean and a lens cloth if you need to. Solutions to polish your cars are available and thier use is recommended only if the car is in desperate need to be cleaned.
But be warned that most race cars have decals that do not take kindly to any rubbing or solutions applied to them.
